Faith in the time of difficulty

What things give you energy?

Faith in the Holy

Faith When Things Are Hard
Luke 8:40-56

By Apostle Jean Mulovery
The Story
Today we read about two people who needed Jesus badly:

Jairus – A church leader whose little girl was dying A Woman – She was sick and bleeding for 12 long years

Both were desperate. Both came to Jesus for help.

What We Learn About Faith
1. Faith Acts Even When Scared
Jairus was important, but he got on his knees and begged Jesus
The woman was ashamed, but she pushed through the crowd to touch Jesus
Truth: Real faith doesn’t wait. It acts now, even when afraid.
2. Faith Waits When God Takes Time
While Jesus was helping the woman, bad news came to Jairus:
“Your daughter is dead. It’s too late.”

But Jesus said: “Don’t be afraid. Just believe.”

Truth: Sometimes God seems slow, but He’s never too late.
3. Faith Gets Personal Attention from Jesus
Jesus didn’t let the woman sneak away. He called her “Daughter.”
Jesus took the dead girl’s hand and said “Get up, child.”

Truth: Jesus doesn’t just fix problems. He cares about YOU.
What Jesus Can Do
For the Sick Woman:

12 years of pain – gone in one touch
Jesus said: “Your faith healed you. Go in peace.”
For the Dead Girl:

Jesus said she was just sleeping
He brought her back to life
He told them to feed her (He cares about everything!)
For Us Today
If You’re Hurting:
Come to Jesus as you are – Rich or poor, Jesus welcomes you
Don’t give up – God’s timing is perfect
Expect Jesus to care – He knows your name and your pain
For Our Church:
Welcome hurting people – Make room for the desperate
Keep hope alive – Jesus can do the impossible
Help in practical ways – Like feeding the girl who was healed
The Big Picture
These stories show us who Jesus really is:

Anyone can come – Leaders and outcasts both welcome
He cares about individuals – Stops for one person in a big crowd
Nothing is too hard – Sickness, death, any problem
He loves us personally – Calls us His children
What Will You Do?
Maybe you’re like Jairus today – facing something impossible.
Maybe you’re like the woman – hiding pain for too long.

Jesus says the same thing to you: “Don’t be afraid. Just believe.”

Your problem isn’t too big for Jesus. Your pain isn’t too small for His attention.

The Question: Will you trust Jesus with what’s impossible in your life?

Prayer Time
Facing a crisis? Come pray with others
Been hiding pain? Step into Jesus’ love
Everyone: Trust Jesus with your hard things
Remember This
In a world full of problems, we know a Jesus who:

Calms storms
Brings dead people back to life
Calls you His daughter or son
That’s the kind of faith we can have!
