“THE CURSE TURNED TO BLESSING: UNDERSTANDING GOD’S REDEMPTIVE PURPOSE IN OUR LABOR”
GENESIS 3:17 – November 2025 Sermon

OPENING PRAYER
Father God, we come before You today with humble hearts. Open our spiritual eyes to understand Your Word. Let the Holy Spirit teach us the deep truths hidden in this scripture. Transform our minds and renew our strength as we learn from Your Word today. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
INTRODUCTION
Beloved congregation, today we stand at the beginning of a new month—November 2025. As we enter this season, God has given us a powerful scripture from Genesis 3:17.
This is not just a story about the fall of man; it is a revelation about God’s redemptive plan that turns curses into blessings.
When Adam sinned, the ground was cursed. But notice something profound: God said, “Cursed is the ground for your sake.”
Even in judgment, God had a purpose. Even in the curse, there was mercy.
MAIN THEME: “FROM TOIL TO TRIUMPH: GOD’S PURPOSE IN YOUR LABOR”
I. UNDERSTANDING THE CONTEXT OF THE CURSE
The Background:
Adam was given one commandment: do not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil
He listened to his wife instead of God’s direct command
Sin entered through disobedience, and consequences followed
The Curse Explained:
“Cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life”
Three key points about this curse:
The curse was on the GROUND, not on Adam directly
God’s mercy was already working
The land would resist, but Adam would still have provision
“For your sake” (Kwa ajili yako)
Even in discipline, God had Adam’s benefit in mind
Hard work would keep humanity humble
Labor would prevent idleness and greater sin
“In toil” (Kwa uchungu)
Life would require effort, sweat, and perseverance
Success would no longer be automatic
Character would be built through struggle
II. THE SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE FOR NOVEMBER 2025
November Theme: “REAPING WHAT WE SOW THROUGH FAITHFUL LABOR”
Church, as we enter this month, God is speaking to us about:
A. The Power of Obedience vs. The Cost of Disobedience
Adam’s mistake: He “heeded the voice of his wife” instead of God’s voice
Modern application: Whose voice are you listening to?
In this season, God is calling us back to listening to HIS voice first
Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart”
B. Understanding That Hard Work Is Not a Curse—It’s a Blessing in Disguise
The toil keeps us dependent on God
Our labor positions us for divine favor
Colossians 3:23 – “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord”
C. Turning Your Cursed Ground Into Blessed Ground
What ground in your life seems cursed right now?
Your business that struggles?
Your relationships that are difficult?
Your health challenges?
Your financial situation?
God is saying: “I will turn your toil into triumph!”
III. PROPHETIC WORD FOR NOVEMBER 2025
“THE MONTH OF DIVINE REVERSAL”
God is declaring over APGCI Church and everyone listening on APGCI TV USA FM:
Your labor will NOT be in vain
(1 Corinthians 15:58)
Every seed you’ve planted in hard ground will sprout
Every prayer you’ve prayed through tears will be answered
Every sacrifice you’ve made will yield a harvest
The curse is being broken over your life
Jesus became a curse for us (Galatians 3:13)
Through Christ, the curse of Genesis 3:17 is reversed
Where there was thorns, there shall be blessings
Your toil is transitioning to triumph
November marks a shift from struggle to success
From barely surviving to abundantly thriving
From cursed ground to blessed ground
IV. PRACTICAL APPLICATION
What Must We Do This November?
1. Return to Complete Obedience to God’s Voice
Stop listening to contrary voices
Read and meditate on God’s Word daily
Pray for discernment
2. Work Diligently With a New Perspective
See your work as worship
Labor with excellence, not complaining
Trust that God sees your effort
3. Speak Blessings Over Your “Cursed Ground”
Prophesy to your situation
Declare that the ground is blessed for your sake
Command fruitfulness in Jesus’ name
4. Exercise Patience in the Process
All the days of your life—it’s a journey
Don’t despise the day of small beginnings
Keep sowing; harvest is coming
PRAYER DECLARATION FOR NOVEMBER
“Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You that through Christ, every curse is broken. I declare that my labor is blessed. The ground beneath my feet is blessed for my sake. My business is blessed. My family is blessed. My health is blessed. What was cursed is now blessed. Where there was toil without result, there shall be toil with abundant harvest. I shall eat the fruit of my labor. My sweat shall not be in vain. This November, I enter into divine reversal. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!”
CLOSING CHARGE
Beloved APGCI family, both in the sanctuary and listening via APGCI TV USA FM, go forth this November with this truth:
Your toil has purpose. Your labor has meaning. Your struggle has an end. God is turning your curse into blessing!
Work hard, pray harder, and watch God transform your cursed ground into blessed ground. The same God who told Adam about the curse also provided the solution through Jesus Christ.
This is your season of reversal! This is your month of breakthrough! This is your time of divine favor!
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.

Being transformed
THE DEFINITION OF TRANSFORMATIONA. Not Merely a Perceptible Change Outwardly in BehaviorOur transformation in the life of God is not merely a perceptible change outwardly in behavior. After a person is saved, he might think that he was a mess as a non-Christian, but now that he is going to church and is also carrying a Bible, he should change his behavior. Many Christians change their behavior this way, and their relatives praise them, saying, “It is good to be a Christian. See, my child has changed since he believed in Jesus.” The fact is that inwardly he has not changed; he has changed only outwardly. If after you believe in the Lord Jesus there is a change only in your outward condition, then this change is merely an outward, perceived change in behavior. This is not to be saved in God’s life. I lived in China when I was young, and I observed many disciples of Confucius. Sometimes their improvement in behavior was quite remarkable. What is the difference between the behavioral improvement of Confucius’ disciples and the transformation of Jesus’ believers? When I was young, I heard some missionaries, who were not clear concerning the truth, say that the teachings of the Bible are exactly the same as the teachings of Confucius. They did not realize that what the teachings of Confucius produced, at most, was an improvement in behavior and not a transformation.B. Being a Metabolic Transformation Inwardly in EssenceTransformation is not merely a noticeable change outwardly in behavior; rather, it is a metabolic transformation inwardly in essence. Second Corinthians 3:18 says, “But we all with unveiled face, beholding and reflecting like a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image…even as from the Lord Spirit.” In this verse, the word changed is not used. In the New Testament the word transformed is used twice. It occurs once in 2 Corinthians 3:18 and another time in Romans 12:2. This term denotes an inward, metabolic change and not an outward change.What is the difference between change and transformation? We may use the example of a person who has been ill and looks thin and pale. Because of this she puts cosmetics on her face to try to improve her appearance. After applying some powder and lipstick, she has some color and looks nice. This is not transformation but is altogether an outward change. It is just like a Chinese opera singer who may turn his face into a white face, a black face, or a red face. However, whether white, black, or red, it is not transformation; it is a performance. For a person to be transformed means that after he is sick, he nourishes himself properly; then after two months when people see him, they will say that he has good color and looks nice. That kind of healthy look is not something added outwardly. It is a manifestation of an inward physical metabolic transformation in essence.II. THE STEPS OF TRANSFORMATIONGod wants us to be transformed, but we cannot transform ourselves. There are steps in transformation. If we follow these steps, we will be transformed.
